Seb Tanner takes a summer job with a community organization in a disadvantaged Seattle neighborhood because he wants to network, have some fun, and, sure, help out. It’ll be like the Peace Corps without the annoyance of having to get extra vaccinations. He turns his condo into a sanctuary for Trey as he recovers from a beating, and the two discover they have more in common than they thought. Still, their worlds are too different, and Seb comes from the kind of people Trey’s spent his life fighting against. When the two discover just how close Seb is to literally being the enemy, they know they have to be smart and stay away from each other. Of course, Trey’s never been known for being smart, and Seb’s learning a lot from Trey this summer…

This is the final in the series and it's great to see the other characters. I liked the main men here too, but I felt there was a little too much politicking and plot going on, distracting us from the relationship. The 3 books had left some loose ends, and it became this books job to tie them all up as well as introduce us to Trey and Seb and their very intricate relationship. A little too much was going on for me and I would have liked more focus on Trey and Seb and more communication between the two of them. Still a satisfactory end to the series, I really like Kate Sherwood's writing, which while not as poetic as say Harper Fox, flows easily. She had lots of puppy metaphors here which made me smile.Product details

I liked this book best out of the series...it's very good. Trey and Seb were adorable. Warm and fuzzy. I loved the storyline. The series is great!
My favorite of the series, the only one that made me tear up. I loved Trey so much when I hadn't expected to care much about him, and Seb was a sweetheart. It was nice to see parents and friends from the admitted 1%, not demonized simply because of that, and wonderful that they were supportive and accepting in every way as well. A constant theme through the series was a sense that one of the MCs wasn't worthy, and the presentation worked here in a way it didn't for me in the first book. Plus the power imbalances between them were handled well, and not ignored as I'd worried might happen. Also, the final epilogue by Dodger, the dog, was adorable and I loved it so much!

This book is obviously the last book in the series and even though I think it can be read as a standalone (not the best idea but it would still be understandable) I strongly recommend to read previous books because they are absolutely AMAZING. All of them.
I LOVE Kate Sherwood's writing style and I love the whole "Shelter" series. All characters here are FABULOUS - real and likable.
This book (similarly to other three) sucked me right into the world of Trey (and Tristan, and Seb, and Shane, and Micah and others...) from the very first page. It is impossible to stop reading, it keeps getting better and better. Surely, it is a little fairy-taley with all the differences between Seb and "gang's" worlds, but it is sweet, lovely and heartwarming no matter what.
I loved all those feelings and emotions and the whole worlds mixing. I loved Seb's change and his family's support and most of all I love Trey. He's a wonderful young man and it was a pleasure to see him finally happy.
I recommend this great book to all good romance lovers.
Trey must have been a challenge to write. I expected Seb's evolution, but Trey is far more stubborn, and the way his self respect hangs on his one skill is a serious roadblock. The plot felt very organic, not contrived and not over-simplified. As a reader, I am grateful for both. My favorite aspect of this series is the friendships in this found family, how each relationship shifts the dynamics but that core of caring remains strong.
